Fernando Varela Joins Casa Pia AC

Cape Verde International Signs Three-Year Deal
Casa Pia AC have secured the services of Fernando Varela, an experienced centre-back from Cape Verde. The 36-year-old joins the Portuguese club from PAOK FC in Greece, where he spent the past three seasons.
Varela has a wealth of experience at both club and international level. He has made over 100 appearances for PAOK and has been capped 25 times by Cape Verde. He was part of the Cape Verdean squad that reached the quarter-finals of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
Casa Pia AC have been looking to strengthen their defence this summer, and Varela's signing is a major boost. He is a physical and experienced player who will bring leadership and stability to the backline.
Varela is expected to make his debut for Casa Pia AC in the upcoming season.
