Amazon Firestick Lost Remote And Not Connected To Wifi Fix

How to Connect Your Firestick to Ethernet: A Comprehensive Guide

Step 1: Gather the Necessary Equipment

To seamlessly connect your Firestick to Ethernet, you'll require the following equipment:

  • OTG cable (On-The-Go cable)
  • Ethernet adapter
  • Ethernet cable
  • Router
  • New Firestick remote (optional)

Step 2: Connecting the Cables

Begin by plugging one end of the OTG cable into the power source and the other end into your Ethernet adapter. Afterward, connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet adapter and the other end to any available port on your router.

Step 3: Pairing a New Remote (Optional)

If you have lost or damaged your original Firestick remote, you can purchase or borrow a new one. To pair the new remote with your Firestick, simply restart the device by unplugging it or navigating to "Settings." Once you're back on the home screen, press and hold any button on the remote to initiate pairing.

Step 4: Avoiding the Remote Setup Issue

Note that you cannot use the Fire TV remote app to complete the Ethernet setup. The app only works when both the app and the Fire Stick are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Therefore, it's essential to pair a new remote or use the on-screen buttons to complete the setup while the Firestick is connected to Ethernet.

Step 5: Finishing the Setup

Once the remote is paired, use the navigation buttons to highlight the "Menu" option and press the "Select" button on the remote. Navigate to "Settings" and then select "Network." Choose the "Wired" option and your Firestick will automatically connect to the internet via Ethernet.
